Vishnu Manchu talks about the reasons Prabhas and Mohanlal declined pay for his film Kannappa which cost over Rs 200 crores. Akshay Kumar was paid very little for his role.
The new film Kannappa from Vishnu Manchu is getting a lot of attention and he has now disclosed that Prabhas threatened to kill him when the payment was brought up. That is indeed what the title says.
Vishnu recently said in an interview that neither Prabhas nor Mohanlal received payment for acting in the film. “Time after time, they shouted at me every time I tried to get a quote for the work,” he explained. According to stories, Mohanlal told him, “You have been raised by me and now you’re pretending to be my senior?” Prabhas, following the Baahubali example, “threatened to kill” his co-star.
Vishnu was constantly praising the huge acts of kindness by these big stars. He said they decided to make the film out of loving, respecting and being good friends with one another.
Surprisingly, Akshay Kumar agreed to take a huge pay cut for his role as Kannappa, helping to increase the love the audience felt for him. The film under Mukesh Kumar Singh’s direction narrates how an atheist begins to follow Lord Shiva.
With an enormous budget of Rs 200 crore and a strong cast putting in their best, Kannappa will release in theaters on June 27, 2025 and everyone is looking forward to it.
