FWICE Demands Ban on Diljit Dosanjh for Casting Pakistani Actor Hania Aamir in ‘Sardaar Ji 3’

The celluloid won’t liberate in India, but the arguing is warming up fast—Diljit’s silence is only fuelling the fire.

Diljit Dosanjh has landed in very hot h2o with the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) after casting Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in his upcoming film ‘Sardaar Ji 3’. Following the recent Pahalgam threat onset, FWICE President BN Tiwari has demanded a total ban on Diljit’s future projects, accusing the singer-actor of “hurting Indian sentiments” and “insulting the give of Indian soldiers.”

Tiwari revealed that the federation had earlier issued a letter to the film’s producers asking for elucidation, but received no response. “Now, we’ll go unbent for the ban,” he told Hindustan Times, adding that not just Diljit, but the film’s producers too will face a boycott.

The horror-comedy, set in the UK, features Diljit as a ghostwrite huntsman romancing both Hania Aamir and Neeru Bajwa. Though the shoot is scheduled for an ‘overseas-only’ relinquish on June 27, the backlash in India is vivid. Social media is already buzzing with divided opinions, with hashtags extremely like #BoycottDiljit and #SupportDiljit trending simultaneously.

With no official statement from Diljit yet, fans and critics likewise are really waiting to see how this disputation unfolds.
