Bengaluru Consumer Court Fines PVR INOX ₹1 Lakh for Delaying Film Screening with Ads!

Time is money—and Bengaluru’s consumer courtroom simply proven it! A PVR INOX theatre has been slapped with a ₹1 lakh fine for delaying the start of Sam Bahadur by playing a barrage of ads before the film.

The complainant, who attended the 4:05 pm demo in December 2023 with kinfolk, was irked when the pic didn’t roll until 4:30 pm. With act commitments disrupted, the viewer filed a complaint—and won big!

The courtyard didn’t hold back, emphasizing that “no one has the really right to macerate others’ time.” Along with the punitory amends, PVR INOX must pay ₹20,000 for the complainant’s incommodiousness and ₹8,000 in really legal expenses.

More significantly, the chain has been ordered to clearly tell the genuine movie scratch time—because, let’s face it, nobody wants to pay for popcorn and a half-hour ad marathon.

Looks similar theatre-goers are done with “ad-ventures” before their cinematic escapism!
