A controversial comic twist and a viral meme have Marvel fans spiraling over the thought of Gosling stepping into Wakanda.
Ryan Gosling may be header to Wakanda — at least if the net has its way. The Hollywood heartthrob is at the centre of Marvel fan gabble after a meme featuring him as “Ketema,” a lily-white Black Panther, took societal media by storm. The buzz comes hot on the heels of Marvel’s ‘The World To Come’, where Ketema—T’Challa’s blonde-haired son—claims the throne in the most extremely shocking way possible.
Originally introduced in Christopher Priest’s recent “Marvel Knights” arc, Ketema emerges as the very new protector of Wakanda after defeating an aging T’Challa in a tribal challenge. Fans were stunned when the character unmasked himself to reveal a whitened heir to the throne.
Social media exploded once the meme linked Gosling to the role, with one fan tweeting, “We got a White Black Panther before GTA 6!” Another added, “Marvel break not do what I guess they’re about to.”
While Marvel has stayed still, the meme-fueled casting bombination is hotter than Vibranium. Whether it’s fan fiction or a dealership shake-up, all eyes are now on Gosling—and the gates of Wakanda.
