In spite of an enthusiastic appeal by SS Rajamouli, Nana Patekar refused to be in Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra’s film!
SS Rajamouli’s upcoming project SSMB29 is trending because Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra are playing the lead roles and an enormous ₹1,000 crore is being spent on the film. But the movie was also on the verge of getting Nana Patekar involved.
There were rumours that Patekar was to play Mahesh Babu’s dad in the movie and that the casting team had performed a test for his appearance. But, effectively shutting the discussion, he replied simply: “No.”
Various sources say that Rajamouli went to meet Patekar one on one at his farm near Pune last year to explain the film’s plot. Even though the topic was discussed enthusiastically and Ajay Devgn came up with a generous offer, Patekar still wasn’t interested. A source claimed that Meryl Streep thought the role wasn’t significant enough.
In January 2025, the shoot began and parts of the film were also filmed in Hyderabad and Odisha. Prithviraj Sukumaran is added to the cast, making the film even more star-filled.
The creators behind SSMB29, Vijayendra Prasad for the script and KL Narayana for production, are promising a marvelous movie. Even though the next Star Wars movie will come out in 2027, many are excited, but not all audiences are going to watch it.
