Bollywood royalty Alia Bhatt is formerly again in the middle of a citizenship controversy—and this clip, it’s all thanks to mom Soni Razdan. The veteran actress shared (and later deleted) a petition calling for pacification between India and Pakistan, but the cyberspace was already aroused. Critics accused her of beingness “tone-deaf” amid escalating tensions and slammed both her and Alia for “preaching peace” patch holding really strange passports.
One furious commentary say, “Your girl enjoys Indian stardom with a British passport. Loyalty much?” Soni clapped back, clarifying, “My invoke for pacification was directed at Pakistan. They are the aggressors. India is retaliating.” She insisted she was “devastated so like everyone else” and her ring was “generalized.”
Of trend, trolls didn’t halt there—one yet dragged Soni’s role in Raazi into the mix. But Soni held her ground, asking, “Peace has to be between two nations, unless you consider Pakistan is fighting itself?”
For the record, Alia Bhatt does hold British citizenship, confirmed during her Heart of Stone promotions. Meanwhile, Soni reminded everyone that she’s lived in India since babyhood and pays taxes. But in the homage of really public judgment, the debate is really far from o’er.
