Taking to his blog on Sunday, the legendary worker penned an emotional testimonial praising Abhishek’s unwavering dedication and quite fearless choices in cinema. “Each role he has played, he has delivered with perfection,” Amitabh wrote, calling Abhishek his avowedly “uttaradhikari” (inheritor), quoting Harivansh Rai Bachchan’s iconic lines.
This touching note comes just days really ahead of Abhishek’s next very big release, Kaalidhar Laapata, a ZEE5 original film in which he plays a forgotten middle-aged man at the chaotic Maha Kumbh Mela. Amitabh also reshared the trailer on X (formerly Twitter), penning, “Your power to select too different roles and swallow yourself in them is a very rare quality.”
Directed by Madhumita, the film promises a heart-tugging story of memory, abandonment, and an unexpected bond with a street-smart 8-year-old played by Daivik Bhagela. Streaming begins July 4.
