Director Shankar in Hot Water: ED Seizes ₹10.11 Cr in Enthiran Copyright Row!

Ace director Shankar, known for blockbuster hits like Enthiran and 2.0, finds himself at the center of controversy as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) reportedly seizes property worth ₹10.11 crore in a copyright infringement case. The allegations stem from a 2011 complaint by writer Aarur Tamilnadan, who claimed Enthiran’s storyline mirrored his work Jiguba.

According to Times Now, the ED’s action follows findings from the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), which noted striking similarities between both stories—raising questions about character arcs and narrative structure. Shankar’s earnings from the film’s direction, screenplay, and story development are under scrutiny.

Released in 2010, Enthiran starred Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, captivating audiences with its sci-fi narrative about a humanoid robot gone rogue. Its 2018 sequel, 2.0, upped the ante with Akshay Kumar as the formidable Pakshi Rajan.

While fans are shocked by the revived allegations, industry insiders await Shankar’s official response. Will this legal twist overshadow the director’s cinematic legac
