Jyotika, one-half of South cinema’s beloved power couple with Suriya, recently got candid about her decision to take a break from films post-marriage. Speaking to Screen while promoting Dabba Cartel, the actress revealed she has zero regrets about stepping away at the peak of her career. “I was extremely happy in the South. I did some of my best work there and wouldn’t trade it for anything,” she shared. Jyotika, who tied the knot at 28 and paused her career until 35, admitted that she might not have landed such meaty roles in Hindi cinema.
Talking about life with superstar husband Suriya, she revealed that fame stays at the door. “At home, we’re just parents figuring out school lunches,” she laughed.
Fans were thrilled with Jyotika’s Bollywood comeback in Shaitaan (2024) alongside Ajay Devgn and R. Madhavan after a 24-year hiatus. With Dabba Cartel around the corner, it’s safe to say Jyotika is back—and how!
