Karan Johar is known for launching fresh faces, but even he didn’t expect Student of the Year stars Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and Sidharth Malhotra to reach the heights they have today! In a candid chat with Game Changers, KJo admitted that while he always saw Alia as a star, he never predicted she’d turn into such a powerhouse performer.
“I always thought Alia would be a star, but I never imagined she’d become this kind of actress,” KJo confessed, adding that while SOTY was her debut, her real professional breakthrough was Highway.
Johar also revealed that he first met Alia when she walked into his office straight from school, while Varun and Sidharth were already part of his team as assistants on My Name Is Khan. When it was time to launch them, he treated them like superstars from day one, believing that confidence would reflect in their performances.
