Laxman Utekar Slams Anurag Kashyap: “Audience Toh Update Ho Gayi Hai, Aapki Sensibility Nahi!”

Laxman Utekar, the director of Chhaava, responds to Anurag Kashyap by saying that instead of dying, cinema is actually evolving and improving.

Laxman Utekar is going full steam ahead with his work. After Anurag Kashyap claimed Bollywood is “toxic” and cinema is on its way out, the director of Chhaava has spoken out strongly. When interviewed by Mama’s Couch, Utekar responded to Kashyap, saying, “Balki doesn’t make movies based on his own taste, but on what the audience wants to watch.”

Earlier, Anurag said in an interview with The Hindu that he quit Mumbai and separated from the film industry, describing it as creatively exhausting. Utekar is sure that Giri isn’t telling the whole truth. He brought up the hits such as Baahubali, RRR, Pushpa and Chhaava starring Vicky Kaushal to confirm that Indian cinema is extremely popular.

Utekar went on to say, “Teen saal mein, the audience evolves. Film makers should now do more than only complain and should choose the phone as their new way to film, the person advised.

To wrap things up, he said: “If Anurag wants to go, he can do so without difficulty.” Just having passion is better than feeling hopeless in the world of independent film.

Let the battle of words in Bollywood start!
