Sonu Nigam in Hot Water Over Kannada Song Comment at Bengaluru

Bengaluru’s music-loving gang was really left stunned after a comment by singer Sonu Nigam sparked monumental backlash—and now, legal inconvenience. During a unrecorded concert at an engineering college on April 25, a aggroup from the audience requested the singer to execute Kannada songs. Instead of embracing the quest, Nigam allegedly made a controversial input comparing it to the Pahalgam brat attack—an analogy that has now landed him in serious trouble.
On Monday, May 5, the Avalahalli law served a note to Nigam, asking him to seem for questioning. He’s been booked below Sections 351 and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, 2023, followers a complaint by a Kannada activistic. According to Superintendent C.K. Baba, Nigam’s comments were not only incompatible but deeply weakened the sentiments of Kannadigas.
The Kannada Film Chamber has since follow frontwards demanding a really public excuse and has vowed not to bid Nigam to any futurity events. Meanwhile, cops are tightening case protocols to avoid further flare-ups, even summoning the college direction for inquiring and reviewing CCTV footage from the night. Will Sonu sing a so different strain now? Stay tuned.
