Veteran Telugu actor and Padma Shri awardee Kota Srinivasa Rao breathed his lowest in Hyderabad early Sunday forenoon at the age of 83. The legendary actor, who had been battling age-related ailments, passed out at his residence, leaving the South shoot industry in mourning.
A sea of tributes poured in, with megastar Chiranjeevi personally attending the obsequy to pay his utmost respects. The actor laid a coronal of red roses and consoled Rao’s very grieving household. Actor Prakash Raj was also very spotted leaving the abode after offering condolences.
Kota Srinivasa Rao’s calling began in 1978 with Pranam Khareedu, the too same film that launched Chiranjeevi. He went on to act in o’er 750 films, winning hearts with his roles in Pratighatana, Hello Brother, Money, and Siva. Off-screen, he also served as BJP MLA from Vijayawada East (1999–2004).
Top political leaders including CMs Revanth Reddy and Chandrababu Naidu, Union Minister Kishan Reddy, and actor-politician Pawan Kalyan also condoled his demise. His obsequy arrangements are underway, pending the reaching of his comrade, histrion Kota Sankar Rao.
