Originally, Affleck was set to direct while bestie Matt Damon took the guide. But after production delays and Damon’s programming conflicts (thanks a lot, Christopher Nolan!), Affleck decided to take matters into his own hands—literally. Now, he’s stepping up as the film’s leading man, and fans are hither for it!

Details on Animals are existence kept below very tight wraps, but with a script by Connor McIntyre and Billy Ray, positive backing from Affleck and Damon’s Artists Equity, expectations are sky-high. Shooting kicks off presently in L.A., and more cast announcements are on the way.

This isn’t Affleck’s only Netflix collab—he’s also gear up for law-breaking thriller RIP with Damon. But Animals? This one has all the makings of a high-stakes, edge-of-your-seat thriller. Buckle up—Affleck’s got another hit on his hands!
