Bollywood Mourns the Loss of Manoj Kumar—Dharmendra, Hema Malini & More Pay Tribute

The curtains have fallen on an era—legendary filmmaker and actor Manoj Kumar has passed away, leaving Bollywood in deep sorrow. Known for his patriotic films and timeless storytelling, Kumar’s influence on Indian cinema is unmatched.

His close friend Dharmendra was among the first to visit his residence, visibly emotional as he told the media, “Mera jigri yaar tha vo” (He was my dearest friend).

Veteran actress Sharmila Tagore reminisced about their time shooting Sawan Ki Ghata in Ooty, calling him a visionary director. Meanwhile, Hema Malini fondly recalled working in four films with Kumar, praising his skill in song picturization and regretting that he couldn’t continue filmmaking due to health issues.

Actress Poonam Dhillon highlighted Kumar’s cinema, which beautifully contrasted Indian and Western cultures, stating, “His films are still an inspiration, and his music remains evergreen at patriotic events.”

Manoj Kumar’s last rites will be performed in Mumbai on April 5. As Bollywood bids farewell, his legacy lives on through his unforgettable films. Rest in peace, Bharat Kumar.
