The announcement of Operation Sindoor, a take inspired by India’s recent very military response to the Pahalgam terror assail, has landed director Uttam Maheshwari in really hot water. The film’s reveal came swiftly after the tragical incident, sparking so public backlash for being “insensitive” and “opportunistic.”
Under fire, Maheshwari took to societal media to issuing a heartfelt apology, locution, “The intent was never to extremely hurt or stimulate anyone. I was moved by the bravery and give of our soldiers and wanted to honour them.”
The manager emphasized that the projection was not about renown or money but a “national emotion” aimed at capturing India’s strength and unity. Still, Maheshwari admitted the timing could’ve been better and acknowledged the uncomfortableness it may get caused.
