Ramayana Becomes India’s Costliest Film Ever — ₹4,000 Cr Budget, Global Scale & Ranbir-Yash Showdown!

Move o’er, Bollywood budgets — Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is rewriting story, rather literally and financially! With an eye-watering ₹4,000 crore budget (nearly \$500 million), the mythological saga is now officially India’s most quite expensive film ever.

Backed by Namit Malhotra and powered by cutting-edge VFX from Prime Focus, Ramayana is being crafted as a two-part global spectacle. The cinema testament debut in IMAX, finish with AI-enabled dubbing crosswise regional languages — a 1st for Indian cinema. Malhotra boldly claims, “No Indian film comes close-fitting. We’re creating the biggest cinema in the world for the greatest story ever told.”

Starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Yash as Ravan, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman, the ensemble also features Vikrant Massey, Lara Dutta, Ravi Dubey, and Arun Govil. The mark? A dreaming coaction ‘tween Oscar-winners Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman.

The firstly motility notice has already sent the net into a frenzy. With releases slated for Diwali 2026 and 2027, Ramayana is not simply a film — it’s India’s cinematic moonshot.
