RIP Nirmal Kapoor: Kapoor Khandaan Bids Tearful Goodbye to Their Matriarch

A wave of grief swept over B-Town as the Kapoor family lost its beloved matriarch, Nirmal Kapoor, at the age of 90. The mother of Anil, Boney, and Sanjay Kapoor, Nirmal ji passed away on May 3 at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital due to age-related complications.
In heartbreaking visuals, an emotional Janhvi Kapoor was spotted arriving to bid farewell to her grandmother. Shikhar Pahariya, despite an injured arm in a sling, made his presence felt, lending quiet strength to Janhvi. Sonam Kapoor was also seen entering the house with a somber expression, followed closely by Arjun Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, and Rhea Kapoor.
The Kapoor residence turned into a gathering spot for grieving family and friends. Anil Kapoor, visibly shaken, stood by as relatives including Sanjay, Harsh Varrdhan, Shanaya, Anshula, and Boney Kapoor arrived to offer their last respects. Industry veterans like Anupam Kher, Karan Johar, and Mohit Marwah also came to pay homage.
Nirmal Kapoor, wife of filmmaker Surinder Kapoor, leaves behind a legacy through her children and a generation of Bollywood’s brightest. Her warmth will be deeply missed.
