Sargun Mehta and Ravi Dubey might be celebrated producers today, but their journey was anything but easy! The power couple, who produced the hit TV show Udaariyaan, recently opened up about a shocking financial setback during the show’s early days.
In a candid chat with Pinkvilla, Sargun revealed that they poured their life savings into the production, only to be hit by a massive fraud of ₹70 lakh! “We emptied our accounts, and when our set was being built, someone scammed us,” she recalled, adding that she was so furious that her security had to hold her back.
With just 15 days left before the show went on air, all they had was an empty floor. Overwhelmed, Sargun admitted she broke down in the car, questioning if they had made a mistake. But Ravi, ever the calm one, reassured her, saying, “Let it go, we’ll earn it back.”
And earn it back, they did! Udaariyaan went on to become a massive success, proving that their grit and determination paid off. Who knew behind all the glitz was such a nerve-wracking struggle?
