Bollywood met cricket in the most electrifying way at the IPL 2025 Opening Ceremony, as Shah Rukh Khan and Virat Kohli delivered a performance that had fans losing their minds! The Eden Gardens came alive when SRK invited Kohli to join him on stage for the hit song ‘Jhoome Jo Pathaan’, and to everyone’s surprise, King Kohli absolutely nailed the hook steps!
The Bollywood superstar, who also owns Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), made a grand entry and sent fans into a frenzy by delivering his iconic Pathaan dialogue: “Agar party Pathaan ke ghar hogi, toh mehmaan nawazi ke liye Pathaan toh aayega hi!”
Adding more glam to the night, Shreya Ghoshal, Disha Patani, and Karan Aujla delivered power-packed performances, making the event truly unforgettable. The evening ended on a sweet note with a cake-cutting ceremony, celebrating 18 glorious years of IPL.
Meanwhile, the cricket action kicked off as RCB’s Rajat Patidar won the toss and opted to bowl first against KKR’s new captain Ajinkya Rahane. With the tournament running till May 25, fans can expect a season full of drama, thrill, and, of course, entertainment!
